today, whilst shopping, i ran into an old school friend of mine that i had been quite close to.
i used to write her 'sick' notes for her, so as you can imagine, we're friends forever now.. anyway, she tells me that she is studying with jehovah's witnesses again.
i think she expected me to be thrilled with this news.
how do you count your time as an apostate? who do you report it to? are you allowed to count in 15 min incraments like the society lovingly allows? ha!

one time i used that scripture off the top of my head to a witness and he swore up and down that jesus said, "he that is not for us is against us"... goes to show their mentality... and the person who said it is a very tolerant, non-judgemental person...

i ask this because it has always 'irritated' me when people talk about jw children : 'he's made the truth his own now!'.
i know some people who have gotten reproved for not controlling their body members. i know my member controls me...

as a jw, did anyone ever ask you the following.... "if you discovered that jehovah's witnesses weren't really teaching the truth, would you leave them?".
here again, it's a toughie for most of them.
if they say "no" they appear a mind-numbed fool.
that's a good point... i notice that many people who raised "in the truth" (many who are even elders and ms's at this point) would admit that they don't know if they'd stay if their parents lost faith. can you imagine being such a follower (although to others, a leader) that you, at 30 years of age would just swing and sway in the wind of your parents whims of beliefs? it just goes to show that most witnesses are in the faith because their parents say it's true. so it must be

i still keep in touch with many witness associates (am not disassociated or dissfellowhsipped---trying to fade).
anyways, so a witness that i am not acqainted with sent an email out to everybody about one of his work days.

i still whistle kingdom melodies at work... just to see if any ears perk up... i work on different construction sites so there are always many new faces... i have earings and a goatie, and i know for a fact that some of the people who hear me whistle these tunes are Jdubs... really messes with their heads!

i was discussing with my mother (still a jw in good standing) and we were laughing about how in every watchtower, when they show "good christian witnesses" at someone's home or doing family activities, they always wear khakis, without fail.
and whenever they show "worldly" people, they are wearing jeans.
have y'all noticed this?
but... one thing i noticed lately, is that there are actually good looking girls in the watchtower pics. there never EVER used to be good looking people... now it seems there must be a falling away of teen boys, so they have to reach out by saying "hey stay with us! jehovah's witness girls are as hot as worldly girls... fornicate with them!"

years ago, there was perhaps the most pathetic jw funeral talk in the whole history of the watchtower.. an old bethel brother named adam baurlein ( sp, not sure) had died.
he had a long history of alcoholism and misbehavior.. he had been at bethel so long that bethelite sons of former bethelites would inquire "dad, did you know this really old guy.
who drinks and tells dirty jokes?".
